UPS Solutions- The UPS is designed to keep your computing system running for a period of time after a power disruption. This enables the system to be shut down safely;
Standby UPS - (Small Business / Home Office) An offline UPS provides battery power to equipment when the mains power supply falls below a pre-determined limit (usually around 200 V AC). This battery will usually last ten minutes.
Line Interactive UPS - (Corporate)A line interactive UPS contains a regulator that boosts the mains power supply when it falls. It can regulate power to an acceptable level, without the use of a battery, during a brownout or surge in supply voltage
Double Conversion / Online UPS - (Corporate / Commercial / Industrial)An on-line UPS absorbs the incoming AC supply, converts it to DC then inverts it to AC to supply critical power loads. An inverter supplies regulated AC power to loads at all times; either from rectified mains or a battery with an on-line UPS
Energy Efficient UPS - (Power conscious consumers)Green Power UPS technology reduce energy costs and consumption by providing the most efficient power management available. These systems are most suitable for Data Centres, air conditioning systems and prodigious consumers of electrical energy for their operations and electrical sysytems.
Surge and Lightning Protection- A surge is a transient electrical fluctuation that happens in a fraction of a second and can cause serious damage to electronic and electro mechanical equipment;
Softwired Surge Filters-NPS provide a range of surge filters and power boards for all applications with load ratings of 18,000 amp (typically used to protect a home computers or work stations) all the way up to 66,000 amp (typically used to protect a series of ups or high end electrical equipment
Softwired Data Protection - NPS provide a range of LPI Surge protection and filtering for data lines, coaxial and telecomunication applications from potentially dangerous voltages, surges or spikes regardless of their source
Hardwired Surge Filters- Since surge filters are connected in series, they must be suitably rated to carry the amount of electrical current that your equipment is using.
Hardwired Surge Diverters- Surge diverters are single-stage, shunt connected devices, which are generally used for point-of-entry (main switchboard) protection. They provide coarse protection that is suitable for the protection of nonsensitive equipment
Direct Lightning Strike Protection- The Need for Lightning Protection Lightning can strike anywhere on earth - even the North and South Poles, In any geographical location lightning storms occur as few as five times or as many as 100 times per year
Connectivity and Communication for UPS
Why UPS Management Software?Sensitive equipment is continuously exposed to varying levels of interference from their power supply network. Securing your installation with a UPS is sometimes insufficient. Often it is also necessary to control and configure the UPS as well as the applications being supplied
Today a UPS can be managed in the same way as any other networked peripheral (printer/scanner/etc.) thanks to graphic interfaces that can be used in the same way as current Web navigation programs. When installed on a workstation or server connected to the UPS, communication software allows the system administrator to manage the UPS remotely.
